When should I use "New Customer? Add to Shopify"?
Use the "New Customer? Add to Shopify" feature when a user does not exist in Shopify but was created in RepSpark first. This method will automatically generate all the information entered in RepSpark and create matching customer profiles in both RepSpark and Shopify.
What do I do if a customer already exists in Shopify?
If the customer already has a profile in Shopify, you'll need to manually sync the information:
- Add Required Tags in Shopify
- Navigate to the customer's profile in Shopify
- Add the following tags that match the "New Customer? Add to Shopify" dropdown options, i.e.:
SalesRep:01:In House
Shipping: UPS Ground
Terms:Net30
Wholesale
(critical - identifies this as a B2B user)
- Perform Customer Sync
- Execute a Customer Sync in RepSpark
- Link the Profiles
- Navigate to the customer's RepSpark profile
- Click the blue <-> symbol to expand the profile
- Click the "Add New Profile" button
- Search for the store name
- Select and add the profile that imports from Shopify
Why is the "Wholesale" tag important?
The "Wholesale" tag is one of the most critical tags because it tells RepSpark that this customer is a B2B user. Without this tag, the system may not properly categorize the customer or provide appropriate pricing and features.
What's the difference between the two methods?
- "New Customer? Add to Shopify": Automated process for new customers who don't exist in Shopify
- Manual sync process: Required when the customer already exists in Shopify and you need to connect existing profiles
Do I need to perform a Customer Sync every time?
Yes, after adding the required tags to an existing Shopify customer profile, always perform a Customer Sync in RepSpark to ensure the information is properly synchronized between both systems.
